George W. Bush asked that the cameras be turned off...but here's a cell phone video of him whooping it up at a Republican fundraiser, laughing and joking about how Wall Street got drunk, etc. While many Americans lose their jobs and homes and suffer in silence.
Cenk Uygur (The Young Turks) boils down complicated issues into a common language that people can understand in this video....and the Democratic Party needs to learn a lesson from him.
Republicans always count on the theory that most Americans are stupid, intellectually lazy, and too busy trying to get by to pay attention to policy issues...getting by instead on vapid, bumper-sticker sloganeering and simplistic sound bites.
Then we have the Democratic Party which seems to be afraid to tell the truth--that the real world is complicated and you have to study what's going down. And sadly, few Democrats have the backbone to break down complicated issues like Uygur does here.
