BTW--how many stories of hate crimes involving a liberal as the shooter can you think of? They all seem to be crazies from the right.
Right-wingers love equating liberals with terrorists...but, when you stop and think about it, the vast majority of domestic terrorism in the US has been carried out by violent right-wing lunatics.

"Police found right-wing political books, brass knuckles, empty shotgun shell boxes and a handgun in the Powell home of a man who said he attacked a church in order to kill liberals "who are ruining the country," court records show.
Knoxville police Sunday evening searched the Levy Drive home of Jim David Adkisson after he allegedly entered the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church and killed two people and wounded six others during the presentation of a children's musical.
....Inside the house, officers found "Liberalism is a Mental Health Disorder" by radio talk show host Michael Savage, "Let Freedom Ring" by talk show host Sean Hannity, and "The O'Reilly Factor," by television talk show host Bill O'Reilly.
....Adkisson, 58, of Powell wrote a four-page letter in which he stated his "hatred of the liberal movement," Owen said. "Liberals in general, as well as gays."
...The church's Web site states that it has worked for "desegregation, racial harmony, fair wages, women's rights and gay rights" since the 1950s....
I can't help but think that this is the end result of violent rhetoric from right-wing media spouting hate for all these years. This was bound to happen. Fascist wingnuts such as Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Michael Savage, Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter have been demonizing “liberals” the same way that Nazis demonized Jews, Socialists, Gypsies etc.
All that hateful rhetoric has fueled this murderous nut's hatred.
The hateful right needed a scapegoat to play on people's fear and ignorance so they could preserve their hold on power...and since the economy has tanked and people are losing homes, jobs and health insurance, the crazies come out in full violent force.
It's not that it was a church he attacked, it was that the church wasn't the 'right kind' of church. So it became a target of his twisted right-wing hostility because the church stands up against misogyny, racism and homophobia. You know, do unto your fellow men and women as you would have them do unto you?
Sounds as if Jesus would fit right in.
Well, one thing's for sure--the shooter guy is not very bright. The people in charge of wrecking America and our economy for the last 7 1/2 years are the Bush White House and the Theo-neo-con Republican party.
