Sure, Sarah knows how to play the game

She's just not very good at it.

Sarah Palin is the crack cocaine of political junkies...we want to ignore her, but we just can't. Thank goodness that she's a gift that keeps on giving to Democrats.

Michael Leahy of the Washington Post notices this little embarrassment:

"Back Home in Alaska, Palin Finds Cold Comfort...Scrutiny Has Been Intense Since Election

JUNEAU, Alaska -- A couple of weeks before the Alaska legislature began this year's session, a bipartisan group of state senators on a retreat a few hours from here invited Gov. Sarah Palin to join them. Accompanied by a retinue of advisers, she took a seat at one end of a conference table and listened passively as Gary Stevens, the president of the Alaska Senate, a former college history professor and a low-key Republican with a reputation for congeniality, expressed delight at her presence.

Would the governor, a smiling Stevens asked, like to share some of her plans and proposals for the coming legislative session?

Palin looked around the room and paused, according to several senators present. "I feel like you guys are always trying to put me on the spot," she said finally, as the room became silent.[..]"

Well goshdarn it...those nasty "gotcha" questions again! "What are your plans for the coming legislative session?" What a sneaky way to put a poor, simple housewife on the spot...just 'cause she's the Governor and all.

Geeze, Sarah. It's not like he asked you what magazines and newspapers you read.

Maybe the pounding she took on the national stage really spooked her if she thinks her own party is now out to get her.

Or are things going on behind closed door in the Republican party in Alaska that would make Sarah a little uneasy?

And, oopsie...seems that Budget Watchdog Palin just got caught not paying certain taxes...she rips off the Alaskan taxpayers by working in her jammies from home and billing them as if she were on the road.

Now, if she were an Obama appointee, she would be toast. Surely it's not OK just because she's a Republican. Surely not....

"Palin owes tax on per diem, state says"

From Anchorage Daily News: "Gov. Sarah Palin must pay income taxes on thousands of dollars in expense money she received while living at her Wasilla home, under a new determination by state officials.

The governor's office wouldn't say this week how much she owes in back taxes for meal money, or whether she intends to continue to receive the per diem allowance. As of December, she was still charging the state for meals and incidentals....

....The Washington Post published a story in mid-September that said she had charged the state almost $17,000 for meals and incidentals while staying in her own home. [..]"

The Rove-McCain campaign's selection of Palin for the VP slot was, for Palin, getting something for nothing. Now that she has tasted getting something for nothing, she wants more of it.

If the wingnuts actually get their way and nominate her for prez in 2012, it'll be a sign that the GOP money wing has left the building and the snake-handlers are now in charge.
