Then he took them all out to eat at Taco Bell
Ex-Senator Macaca pitches the GOP to minorities.
Dang, the Republicans have moved beyond parody.
Yep, this oughta show you how desperate they are...the Republican National Hispanic Assembly had former Republican senator George Allen - a man who referred to a brown-skinned American as a genus of monkey - speak at the Capitol Hill Club on “The Future of Hispanics in the GOP.”
Everybody remembers the YouTube vid of Allen during his 2006 re-election bid, disgracing himself by calling a young man of East Indian descent "macaca"...a racial slur.
Well, now he's trying to make the case on why Republicans need to be more tolerant on immigration. The washingtonindependent.com reported some of Allen’s remarks:
"I grew up in a football family. In sports, what you have is a level playing field…you don’t care about race, all you care about is who can help you win. Team America has to have that same competitive spirit!"

People at the event also joked that Allen was an “honorary” Hispanic.
This is a guy who used to hang both a noose AND a Confederate flag in his Senate office. He's a racist pure and simple...he should be thrashed with a copy of the civil rights bill until he has a change of heart.
This is Allen translated - "If we can’t fool immigrants and minorities to vote for us the GOP will become a permanent minority. I'm not asking you to abandon your racist principles, I’m just asking you to do a better job pretending you aren’t racist. We have to pander and lie to them to get their vote because they can help us win...then we can continue to support policies that aren’t in their best interests."
Hey, it worked with J.C. Watts...until he got a clue.
Ever notice how the GOP puts their tokens front and center to give the illusion they have more minorities in their camp than they actually do? Powell, Rice, and now RNC Chairman Steele...it’s doubtful they would have gotten nearly the exposure they did had they been white.
Meanwhile, the GOP makes up and spreads stories of widespread voter fraud...trying to disenfranchise minorities.
The R's clearly showed their views on tolerance and inclusiveness throughout the primary and presidential campaign. Remember how Sarah Palin kept asking where is real America? Code for mostly white small towns?
So, trying to switch horses now, just to stop the Republican train from speeding off the cliff, is blatant hypocrisy.
And having George Allen make the appeal is another Saturday Night Live skit in the making.
