New York Assemblyman Felix Ortiz, D-Brooklyn, has introduced a bill that would ban the use of salt in restaurant cooking. How absurd! Just think what it would do to the NYC restaurant industry.

Every chef seasons his/her food .. unseasoned food is yucky, bland. Think of eating a beautiful grilled steak with no salt .. or bread or soup .. no cured meats, no deli foods, no Chinese food.

What about fast food McDonald's? Something tells me this bill won’t go anywhere.

And if I were Felix, I'd be very careful about telling a bunch of chefs -- known for their artistic temperaments and dazzling knife skills -- that they can no longer season their food.

Here is the article:

"Some New York City chefs and restaurant owners are taking aim at a bill introduced in the New York Legislature that, if passed, would ban the use of salt in restaurant cooking.

"No owner or operator of a restaurant in this state shall use salt in any form in the preparation of any food for consumption by customers of such restaurant, including food prepared to be consumed on the premises of such restaurant or off of such premises," the bill, A. 10129 , states in part.

The legislation, which Assemblyman Felix Ortiz , D-Brooklyn, introduced on March 5, would fine restaurants $1,000 for each violation."

Seriously, Ortiz has to be doing this to make a point .. he can't be serious. Who's going to support absolutely zero salt? No-salt pepperoni, chorizo, cheeses, no pickles or olives .. no pretzels or nuts in bars, no ham or bacon!

Nope .. never gonna happen.

Massa, the tickling, snorkeling "groper"

Or - the teabagger Blue Dog turns out to be an actual teabagger.

This is a story that tells itself -- the bizarre media meltdown of former Democratic congressman Eric Massa. But, since I razzed Republicans Mark Foley, Larry Craig, etc., it wouldn't be fair to ignore this train wreck.

Everybody should remember first off that Massa IS a conservative, and WAS a Republican until 2004 .. when he found it politically useful to run as a Democrat.

I'm so glad he's gone, the Democratic party does not need more crazies -- Rep. Anthony Weiner called him "one taco short of a happy meal" -- and think of the implications of a ticking Massa time bomb exploding right before mid-term elections this autumn.

I've always been for cleaning our own house .. which is far more than the party of Ensign, Vitter, and Sanford can say.

This whole Massa thing blew up when the Ethics committee started to get interested in reports of Massa's sexual harassment of staffers, groping them and tickling them until they "couldn't breathe."

All of a sudden Massa said he had to take a break because his cancer might return. Then he said it was because he was was bullied by the White House to vote for HCR .. telling a bizarre story about a naked finger-pointing Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel accosting him in the shower demanding he vote for this and that, etc. .....

I don't think Democrats are as embarrassed BY Massa as much as they are embarrassed FOR Massa.

Massa was also dangerous to the Democrats when he claimed that the health care reform bill will "destroy this country" ... thank goodness he's gone, he's not our problem anymore. Next he went on to be Glenn Beck's problem .. which was hilarious .. with Beck trying to get Massa to tell inside stories of Democratic corruption and instead got Navy 'tickle party' stories .. with pictures. Jon Stewart captures it here, in "Sour Gropes":

http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-march-10-2010/sour-gropes

Next, Massa went on to be the Navy's problem .. new reports surfaced with former male subordinates saying that Massa wanted to give them inappropriate "Massa massages" .. and he even "snorkeled" a sleeping roommate.

What did I find when I did the google on "snorkeling" + sex play?

OMG! And wasn't there a Sgt. Snorkel in Beetle Bailey?

Anyway, Massa resigned .. and in another desperate attempt to divert attention away from the HCR debate, that orange Republican Sen. Boehner came out and called for more investigations. Which is sooo hypocritical .. because this is the same John Boehner who didn't do a dang thing when he learned about that pedophile creep Republican Sen. Mark Foley hitting on underage senate pages.

Yes, the R's are gleefully playing pure political football .. but hey, it's politics .. we Dems would do the same.

Read all about it here: "[M]assa departed Congress on Monday after first saying he had cancer, then claiming he wanted to avoid an investigation, then saying he was forced out because he opposed health care reform, and finally saying he wasn't forced out.[..]"

Okay .. now all we have to do is wait for Massa's wife to file for divorce .. or for the two of them to go to a religious retreat where they re-embrace Jesus and all will be forgiven .. or for his wife to suddenly start wearing very expensive jewelry, and everything continues the same.

Maybe he can get a job as the sixth member of the Village People .. too bad the Navy guy is already taken ...
