Sooner Be Blue

I guess it took the entire ABC Investigative Journalist team to dig up this story. It would seem that we have such an honest, law-abiding and open administration that investigative journalists just don't have anything else to do.

From ABC NEWS INVESTIGATIVE UNIT:
"March 19, 2008 Hillary Clinton spent the night in the White House on the day her husband had oral sex with Monica Lewinsky, and may have actually been in the White House when it happened, according to records of her schedule released today by the National Archives. [..]"

It's hard to believe -- that after spending months harassing Hillary Clinton to release her schedule as First Lady, because open government is sooo important -- this is what ABC News "Investigative Reporters" wanted to know. If she was in the White House when Bill Clinton was with Monica.

Okay, okay...there's plenty to NOT like about Hillary Clinton -- her initial support for the war, her willingness to fight tooth and nail for the nomination no matter what it does to the party, the steamer trunks of baggage she brings to the table...

But this ABC story is just beyond the pale. Why is this news? Why is this relevant? There are plenty of real things to object to about the Clintons, must we dig up this blue dress again?

Here we are ...fighting a war in Iraq, paying $4 a gallon for gas, and in the middle of an important and historic presidential race, where for the first time in American History an African-American or a woman could be elected president, and this eleven year old story of marital infidelity is being discussed again? This woman is being humiliated again? Unbelievable!

And this silly spinning of Hillary's schedule just shows that the media can make her into whatever they want her to be. I saw one spin her as a do-nothing lady who lunches and takes tea--after the health-care incident, I guess. Another spun her as "pushing" NAFTA because there's an entry about her dropping by a NAFTA briefing---I guess "dropping by" is somehow the same as passing legislation.

CNN and AP are at it too. What in the hell has happened to journalistic integrity in this country? What happened to objectivity and actual investigative reporting?

I can't believe they would bring up such a non-issue during this critical time in our country. And on the 5th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq...

The documents clearly show that work-horse Hillary plunged into health care on the 3rd day that Bill was in office, that she was at the Irish Peace talks...and Kosovo...and all the sleazy media bastards can think of headlining is the blue dress.

Ah well...the up side is that this kind of hit-job-journalism is what will drive more women to vote for her. The more they bring up Monica, the more those fed-up women will come to her defense.

I see a swiftboat ad in the making. They are just itchin' to go after the Clintons, and they get two for the price of one with Bill. That he would 'carry on' when people were around, much less his wife, is just the kind of weak spot they dream of...

...well, that and Obama's fire-breathing-pissed-off-at-America preacher.
